Job Description:
The Photonic IC Designer will be responsible for optical IC development used in our LiDAR sensor products as well as internal R&D purposes. The optical ICs will include sensors, emitters, optical control, optical phased arrays and recommending lasers. The Photonic IC Designer will lead IC development and work with ASIC designers, hardware engineers, firmware engineers and mechanical engineers to achieve highest performance LiDAR in the market. The candidate must be highly motivated to create production quality, market driven photonic ICs and be able to work independently with minimum guidance. CORE
Responsibilities:
Lead photonic IC development. Plan tasks and guide the team through all photonic IC development phases. Define architecture and design specifications with the larger team and define implementation strategies and tactics to meet aggressive quality and schedule goals. Work closely with fabs and manufacturing engineers. Define test strategies. Be responsible for resource planning and allocation to deliver against plan, including schedule and lead the evaluation of design. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required. 8
years of experience in photonic IC design industry. Demonstrated success in complete photonic IC design cycles resulting in market proven products Experience in Photonic system analysis and planning. Command of electromagnetic theory. Experience in Photonic IC layout design with Luceda, Cadence, Mentor Graphics tools or equivalent. Experience in electromagnetic simulation with common tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL or Photon Design. Experience working with foundries, DRC checking, GDSII generation and wafer handling. Experience in phyics-based simulation and correlation with test data. Direct/conduct optical experiments and test software design efforts. Experience with optical bench experiments with tools such as parameter analyzer, optical spectrum analyzer, laser sources, integrating spheres. Experience in yield analysis for design optimization. Support fab, test and packaging teams. Ability to run and debug with verification tools for LVS/DRC/ERC. Experience in requirement management. Proven track record in achieving results in a fast moving, dynamic environment strongly desired. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience in FMEA. Familiarity with ISO Documention. Experience with semiconductor laser and transistor design. Proficiency in scripting languages such a Python is a plus. REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Masters in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. PREFERRED EDUCATION:
PHD in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
