Human Resource Manager Job
Summary:
The Human Resources Director will use their skills and insight to promote our business values and educate our staff on how to work within and promote these values.
This individual will oversee and sometimes be directly involved in the hiring and training of Farm Market/Pick-Your-Own staff, as well as aid in seasonal/event staff.
The HR Director will coordinate with office and payroll staff to ensure effective onboarding, give oversight to department managers to ensure that general policies and procedures are followed, and take the lead in ensuring regular evaluations and feedback are given to all staff.
The HR Director will also help establish healthy work environments and promote healthy workplace relationships, taking disciplinary action when necessary.
Finally, our HR Director will help to create a positive work environment with community/team building experiences, be an encouragement to others, and help recognize the accomplishments of staff.
(The HR Director will be expected to collaborate with our Scheduling Manager, but not perform main scheduling tasks.
) Minimum Qualifications Must have a high school diploma.
Must have basic technological skills.
Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, in person and through written communication.
Must have experience working with people where problem-solving and conflict resolution skills were tested and displayed.

Responsibilities:
Follow a yearly/monthly goal calendar for HR related tasks/projects based on busier/slower times for business.
Post job openings in market and coordinate with marketing team to post online.
Coordinate with Owners, Market Manager and other Department Managers to determine hiring needs.
Field all applications, handing over to Maintenance or Events when applicable.
Interview candidates alongside one other manager (often the market manager).

Write and send job offers.
Assist in collecting new hire paperwork.
Coordinate with other office staff and managers to onboard new employees.
Once an employee is fully onboarded, ensure continued appropriate training is completed by department managers.
Perform periodic evaluations (30/45/60/90 day depending on role, as well as yearly) with other managers presence and/or input.
Follow-up on evaluations with Action Plan.
Provide continual training/reminders of W.
O.
policies and provide disciplinary action as necessary.
Assist in team/coworker relationship-building meetings and conflict resolution as necessary.
Plan strategically for employee growth and development through outsourced classes and/or in-house periodic team development classes.
Review Employee Handbook yearly (alongside others in Core Management) and write updates as necessary.
Provide frequent communication to staff about upcoming changes, seasonal and otherwise.
Improve our employees' experience through improved policies, new creative ways to show them our appreciation, and celebrating big milestones (5 years, 10, etc.
) Maintain organizational flow chart.
Scheduling:
Currently we have a scheduling manager.
Scheduling responsibilities will be reassessed periodically.
If the HR Manager takes on scheduling, they will be responsible for working closely with the market managers to ensure that departments have the leadership necessary at any given time.
The individual scheduling market/PYO staff will need to field and approve or deny time off requests, work with many individual employee needs (school, single-parent time constraints, sports, etc.
) as part of our culture is to provide a place of work for some who need extra flexibility.
Our schedule is an ever-changing puzzle, and the scheduling manager must be adaptable to work with the growing seasons, customer seasons, and natural seasons! Personal Attributes:

Physical requirements:
Much of the job will be performed while sitting, but the HR manager should be on feet throughout the workday, talking with staff on site and also engaging with customers.
At times the HR Manager will also need assist staff in market departments.
Physical appearance:
Due to the nature of this position, and the image we wish to convey, we require conservative, neat/ clean attire.
The individual will present as a professional in all manner of speaking.
Dress is casual, but professional.
Any other requirements will be found in the Employee Handbook, to be reviewed before accepting the position.
Structure:
This position is categorized as part-time (average 15-20 seasonally).
The individual must be dependable and reliable.
Shifts are daytime Monday through Friday (days and exact hours flexible), with the occasional evening and Saturday (open for discussion).
The exception is Saturdays in September and October - during our Fall Family Fun days, we require all employees to be present for most Saturdays.
Some flexibility is required to accommodate interviews.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
