Mechanical Project Technician

Job Description
To provide project maintenance and set up support for the Morgantown Furnaces
Essential Functions
Will plan a project from conception to completion including clean up and reordering of materials used (through the Foreman/General Foreman)
Will perform clean-out and chamber set-up on an as needed basis.
Must work within close tolerances to provide acceptable fit and finish to projects.
Accept responsibility for implementation of reliability improvement, productivity improvement, and process development projects as assigned.
Inspect molds and dovetail puller assemblies regularly during clean-outs and/or after they are removed from a melting campaign. Make repairs or coordinate repairs though the Melt Shop Foreman, Sr. Mech Technician or outside contractors
Recommend modifications to improve reliability and productivity of both E.B. Furnaces as appropriate. Fabricate/install modifications as authorized. Work with management to develop solutions to recurring problems. Follow solutions and modifications through the installation. Follow up to evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED is required
Formal trade school or applicable experience necessary
Must have good communication skills and be able to provide training to operators and other set up technicians.
Ability to copper weld - hearths, molds, dovetails and water-cooled copper shields.
Ability to TIG/MIG and stick weld.
Must be willing to work overtime to ensure projects are implemented on a timely basis.
Must be able to wear a respirator
E.B. Furnace Operator experience is desired

Experience with:
Plumbing and silver soldering
Pneumatic & hydraulic systems
Rigging
Mechanical maintenance and repair
Layout and fabrication
Different types of fittings
Lubrication of mechanical devices
Aligning mechanical equipment using dial indicators or similar devices

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
