For Sale: 1939 Ford Pickup in Morgantown, Pennsylvania for sale in Morgantown, PA

Vehicle Description 1939 Ford Pickup Early on in the history of Ford Motor Company a noticeable lowercase e completed the curl at the back of the cursive F on the Ford name.
Henry Ford, and Thomas Edison both had winter estates in Ft.
Myers, Florida, and shared ideas and cigars.
One Idea that would make Ford a real innovator was the concept of the assembly line.
This original idea came from Edison, and in deference to him and his idea, Henry Ford honored him in his early logo with that e on the curl, and as they say the rest is history! For consignment a bit of beautiful Ford design from 1939 in the form of a pickup.
This all metal truck with wood steak bodied side toppers, and wood bed had been painstakingly restored a bit ago, but retains its shine and poise from the 1939 showroom floor.
Exterior Starting out with the obvious the oval shaped grille with horizontal green painted ribs and a chromed surround works in unison with the rounded exterior fenders upfront, and single bullet style headlight on either side.
Some orange turn signal lights are just above the simple curved bumper bottom front, and a V shaped rounded off hood works its way rearward to the split windshield.
Long stalks support round mirrors on either door, along with a nicely preserved handle to open these doors.
A body matching green running board is below and makes for easier access to the cabin.
The metal sided bed has been re-lined on the inside with new oak wood and shiny mounting strips and has some wood rails at the top edge on either side.
The original gate is on and shows some denting but no rust, and a small red taillight is on either side with no bumper on back.
Thin bias ply wide stripe whitewall tires with black painted drilled metal wheels, a central green trimming and some Ford V8 chromed mood caps to finish off the wheel bling.
Interior A swing of the door and a simple black painted metal panel is centered within a green metal field for the doorskeep it simple.
Slipping inside a large black vinyl smooth bench stretched from door to door, and an original green metal dash is fronting the big black bakelite steering wheel.
Floors are rubber, pedals are round, and a tall shifter reaches for the driver.
2 simple round gauges front this wheel and save for a scarce 2 knobs the dash is complete! Drivetrain A good old reliable 221ci flathead V8 resides with the engine bay which emulates the strong V shape as the hood goes.
It is topped by a single 2-barrel carburetor and an original 3-speed manual transmission.
The rear axle weighs in at 3.
54 gear ratio.
The engine shows some rust on the heads, and patina on the intake manifold, but looking good overall, just not perfect, BUT it's a truck! Undercarriage Prior frame repair was done on the rear section where the X-frame meets the perimeter frame.
A newer fuel tank hangs below, as does the underside of the wood which is looking like new.
Transverse leaf springs (like the family buggy) provide the ride, and drum brakes of the hydraulic persuasion are on all 4 corners.
Drive-Ability Classic old trucks are always eye catchers, hence why when I need recognition, I take one of these into town just to look cool, (even though I'm far from it), and it works! This truck fired right up and was ready for my trip, which has good smooth acceleration, shifting and ride, along with the brakes which are good, but you'll need to plan ahead! All functions, (although few of them) were working just great.
With its late 30's iconic look, nice paint, and solid frame and mechanicals, this truck is a great promo piece that is begging for your business name to be put on the doors and go out for more work.
Classic trucks are hot right now, so don't delay too long as it may get snapped up, especially since this is truly the only 1939 version we have or have had in house.
It's that grille that grabs you! Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 600 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles.
