Vehicle Description 1990 Ford Bronco XLT The Ford Bronco is a model line of sport utility vehicles manufactured and marketed by Ford.
The first SUV model developed by the company, five generations of the Bronco were sold from the 1966 to 1996 model years.
A sixth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2021 model year.
The nameplate has been used on other Ford SUVs, namely the 1984-1990 Bronco II compact SUV and the 2021 Bronco Sport compact crossover.
Originally developed as a compact off-road vehicle using its own chassis, the Bronco initially competed against the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout.
For 1978, Ford enlarged the Bronco, making it a short-wheelbase version of the F-Series pickup truck; the full-size Bronco competed against the Chevrolet K5 Blazer and Dodge Ram-charger.
For consignment, the 1990 version of the Bronco XLT, from California with no rust, and in wonderful condition.
Originally owned by a physician, and a full binder packed with maintenance information and any repair receipts, you'll be able to see the full history of this truck.
Bathed in factory white, and American Racing wheels in each corner for some highlighting, it has been well maintained and the hard top has never been off of this truck.
Climb every mountain.
Exterior All straight steel is neatly put together and minding its gapping, and is all bathed in a respray of Colonial white.
A nice front shiny grille with bumper below and good looking contrasting trimmings surround the wheel wells and exterior glass.
Badging is all correct and new, and a walk around will have you hyped up on the height to give you visions of sugarplums and wild out of the way places you can get away to.
This generation with its somewhat massaged squared off design and long wheelbase, Extra Luxurious Truck Trimmings (XLT), American Racing Polished wheels and large 33x12.
5R15LT go anywhere tires will serenade you when rolling down the highway at full tilt.
Interior Climbing inside I'm blue with envy as I'm greeted with door panels bathed in more shades of blue and a highlighting panel of textured broadcloth pattern and molded vinyl and plastic.
Power window toggles are seen and a lower door storage unit is also molded in and covered on the lowers with the interior medium blue carpeting.
Seats are broadcloth inserts in various shades of blue with shiny darker blue broadcloth bolsters.
The dash has a well preserved dash pad, and is nicely painted blue to house the instruments.
Some rounded over wood trimmings can be seen as highlighter and even on the steering wheel.
In the center of the buckets is a large console with a storage box and drink holders.
Like new medium blue carpeting is installed, and the headliner is tight.
It ends at the beginning of the back of the car and the removable covering is taking over for the roof covering at this point.
Lest I forget a rear bench seat is sitting in the middle of the bed, and looking barely used, no cracks or errors.
Drivetrain Under the hood is the original 5.
0 Liter V8 with EFI fuel delivery.
There is an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission which pushes power rearward to a Ford 9-inch rear axle with a 3.
55 gear ratio.
Some dust and slight dirt are noted in this unrestored but nice engine bay.
Undercarriage Underneath we note some surface rusting that has started to take up residence on several surfaces.
Framing is sound and all the mechanicals are working just fine.
New brakes and shocks have recently been put on, and noted is radius arm and coil springs for the front suspension and leaf springs for the rear.
Power disc brakes are on front and power drums for the rear.
Drive-Ability This truck started right up and we began our climb (sic) to the test track.
Here it worked as it should with good acceleration, and decent handling.
Brakes are good and should be as they are fairly new according to the consignor.
All electronics were working just fine, and a recent fresh oil change has been performed.
I have personally experienced driving one of these in the hinterlands of BLM in Utah, and we could not destroy it.
One can assume this truck has the same toughness, as it is of the same vintage as the one we were crawling around red rock territory, climbing things that put fear into my heart, especially when you are looking towards the sky but still moving forward! This truck is a very nice example, with sporty wheels, big tires and a nice blue interior in broadcloth.
Storage in the back, nice ride height, and room for 5, go on git out there into the wilds of the great USA.
