Vehicle Description 1952 Ford 8N Tractor Official production of the 8N tractor began in July 1947.
Equipped with a 4-speed transmission, this model was destined to become the top-selling individual tractor of all time in North America.
The Ford N-series tractors were a line of farm tractors produced by Ford between 1939 and 1952, spanning the 9N, 2N, and 8N models.
The 9N was the first American-made production-model tractor to incorporate Harry Ferguson's three-point hitch system, a design still used on most modern tractors today.
It was released in October 1939.
This led to the brand name of Fordson.
And now for something completely different! A resto-mod 1952 Ford 8N Tractor.
The definition of you never know what is coming through the door here at Classic Auto Mall.
Totally customized, totally cool, and totally original in its looks and mechanicals, our creative consignor took this farm worker to another level.
Enter it into any show and it will be the standout in a crowd of the usual suspects.
The only question is does it go into the hot rod category or does it go into Vintage Farm Equipment? No matter, it does go into the category of cool only it is spelled KEUUWL! The Machine:
Medium Gray bathes the upper portion of this nifty build and remains one of the few original parts to the 8N which came from the factory.
It now has a chromed grille guard and chromed radiator cap.
The original headlights which hang off of either side have been retained.
Rear fenders are also in the gray and have a painted Ford badge on the tops of them.
The remainder of the tractor is bathed in Vermillion Red and presents in near perfect condition.
The rear view shows dual rear wheels and turf tires with large gray painted interior wheel structure.
The front wheels are circa 1937 and are Ford wide five style and are chromed, with more turf tires.
There is some custom pin striping painted on for accenting.
The operator gets to perch high on a custom racing bucket seat complete with triangulated tufted stitched red insert vinyl within a black formed tub.
Padded edging with some custom black stitching protects the sharp edges of the formed seat.
The driver also gets to reach out for a 1939 Ford banjo style steering wheel with an 8 ball badged hub as well as gaze at blackfaced SW gauges with shiny bezels.
The shift lever is in the center sporting another 8 ball, and in back is the Ferguson three point hitch and dual shiny stainless exhaust are seen and heard! Drivetrain Under the hood showing in blazing red and cast ribbed aluminum cylinder heads and coverings, is a 239ci V8.
It has an Edelbrock intake manifold and dual Super 97 2 barrel carburetors.
Stainless steel headers and shiny exhaust pipes flow rearward past the red framing.
This engine is cranked to life via a 12 volt hi torque starting system.
All is kept cool with an aluminum radiator and electric fan.
Plenty of chromed bolt ons and supple black hoses and wrong make this mill a shower and goer.
It's a stopper too with mechanical drum braking.
Drive-Ability What can I say, it drives like a tractor! Albeit a very interesting one with lots-o-power, plenty-o-bling, and just enough retro to make it really interesting.
This is not a puller or racer, just an interesting conversation piece that I'd love to put into a local fair and see what the reaction is.
(I'm in charge of the Denver, PA for Tractor competition and if it's around then I'm gonna do it!) Bonus:
With this creation comes a nifty kids pedal tractor painted in the same scheme as its father.
Come on in, and take both for a spin.
