The 1932 Ford was a mass-produced consumer product designed for the multitudes, yet few cars - in fact, few products of any type - have achieved the universal recognition, fame, and sheer longevity of the Deuce Coupe.
For consignment, not your usual stripped down fender less, hood less, topless, doorless deuce coupe.
No not at all folks, as we have some, (created), greatness in our presence.
So good that I'm coining a new term:
A Resto Rod.

From this day forward I'm referring to these custom built cruiser hot rods as Resto Rods.
Mark my words it will become famous just like the Classic Auto Mall and my ramblings! But enough about us, let's take a closer look at the Resto Rod.
You heard it here first on Roller Derby.
( thx Cheech and Chong) Exterior A fine mix of fiberglass body and fenders from Redneck Street Rods.
A steel hood from Rootlieb, a steel grille from Brookville, LED headlights and tail lights with a high mounted 3rd brake light installed, manual door locks from Bear Jaw Mechanicals, 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels and 195/65R15's on front, and 235/75R15's on back from the 2nd week of 2016.
All this is bathed in Anniversary Red, (I'll call it maroon), which is wonderfully and carefully applied in a clean room as there are no inclusions just miles deep shine and paint.
Chrome is all excellent and can double as a mirror to comb that DA after you've smoked the competition on the hanky dropper.
A fine example of what 1932 looked like but with added bling, no maintenance, no rust no fuss just get in turn the key and driveFAST! HAH! My Resto Rod term is coming into its own!! ( Only a matter of time until someone steals it!) Interior A swing of the suicide doors reveals more custom plush in the form of some vertical tuck and roll door panel inserts with surrounding smooth leather all in light wheat color way.
Shiny pulls and actuators are on and working perfectly.
Inside we note a full rounded over bench which our laggard image maker finally took the protective towel off exposing all greatness underneath in the form of more tuck and roll leather inserts and smooth bolsters along with seatbelts.
In front, an Ididit tilt chromed steering column with a rally banjo styled padded steering wheel on top.
This has a wonderfully custom dash behind it with more matching light wheat full jacket paint covering it.
In the center is an aluminum oval with a machined swirl pattern and black faced gauges all lined up.
A few more gauges on the bottom, oval AC vents, Vintage AC, billet knob controls, and plenty of hidden switches underneath the dash.
I must ask, is there a club for hot rodder's that designates the actual builder is ONLY knows how to find and operate the various hidden buttons and levers? I see many examples of how to start the car or open the trunk.
First you need to stand on your head, then pat your belly while moving your hand in front of your mouth going woo, woo, woobut I digress as this car is not different! The consigner is in that sub club! So ignition, headlights wipers, high beams etc are all under the dash for you to explore.
Light wheat leather forms boots for the Lokar shifter and handbrake.
Just fab inside save for those Jenga puzzle toggles and levers under the dash! Drivetrain Under the cowled hood is a very special 350ci crate motor which consignor states but has no documentation of, puts out 290hp.
Feeding it is a set of Edelbrock dual 4bbl500cfm carbs, and on back is a TH350 3-speed automatic with a stall converter, and some Lokar parts within its confines.
On the back is a Ford 9 inch 3.
23 geared rear axle.
JetHot coats the headers and valve covers are mirror polished.
High voltage wiring is now on and a Dakota Digital fan keeps things cool, even though the bling and looks are absolutely RED hot! ( I think I'll brush and floss while the cowl is open) Undercarriage An all new complete Pete and Jakes chassis holds the fiberglass and steel and leather above firmly in place.
There are chromed ladder bars and a new 14 gallon gas tank.
Heidt independent front suspension with manual rack and pinion steering, QA1 coilover shocks, and a balanced drive shaft.
Large 9-inch rear drum brakes and polished front disc braking with Wilwood calipers and rotors provide the whoa factor.
A Corvette dual master cylinder clamps the braking down, and it has an assist from a Pete and Jakes dual brake booster.
As fab underneath as above.
Drive-Ability I got in and rubbed my head and patted my belly and was off to the test track.
Here it was totally no nonsense where it had neck snapping acceleration, bias free immediate stopping, and all working conveniences when one can actually find them.
All in all an awesome experience.
When one says Deuce they think of a street rodded racer all stripped down.
Quite the contrary for this beauty and build.
It is all luxury with some guts under the hood, and it is all looking just super duper! A who's who of name brand add-ins, a mix of steel and fiberglass and all buttoned ups to be a Resto Rod!
