For Sale: 1951 Chevrolet Styleline in Morgantown, Pennsylvania for sale in Morgantown, PA
Vehicle Description 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Station Wagon The Chevrolet Deluxe was a trim line of Chevrolet automobiles, marketed from 1941 to 1952, and was the volume sales leader for the market during the 1940s.
The line included at first a 4-door sedan, but grew to include a fastback 2-door aerosedan and other body styles.
The 1941 Chevrolet was the first generation that didn't share a common appearance with Chevrolet trucks, while the Chevrolet AK Series truck did share common internal components.
For consignment a faux woody Styleline wagon from 1951.
This car has plenty of patina and some surface and invasive rust, but is able to carry 8 passengers comfortably.
Dulled chrome and stainless steel trimmings are on throughout, as this car remains mostly original.
Please Note:
NO TITLE-SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY Exterior All steel and all original with some rust bubbling, invasive rust and problematic panels are noted throughout.
All is cosmetic and has not compromised the structural integrity of the car so we could call it cosmetic and warranting further investigation.
All steel fake wood panels show in a light tan (similar to maple), and create a 3 dimensional pattern mixing with a darker walnut like painted metal as a panel insert.
Originally there was a faux grain effect painted onto the wood but this has since been repainted over with just the plain color.
All chrome is dulled and most pitted with the front hood badge and jet age hood ornament are delaminated of any chrome plating and are now full rusted surface.
The tailgate, also wood grained, is a clamshell opening with the bottom gate lowering and the upper going towards the roof for full access to the passenger compartment.
Interior A swing of the doors and we can see original wood paneling for the door coverings along with authentic wood sills.
A small horizontal band is on the bottoms of each door and is brown vinyl.
Inside a full front bench seat covered in tan vinyl sits in front of an original gray painted metal dash.
A few bakelite topped knobs abound along with dual circular gauge clusters.
In the center are some big chromed vertical ribs, for the temp sliders and built tin ashtray.
In the exact center of the dash is a round clock on the dash top.
A smaller bench is in row 2, and this allows access to another rear mounted full bench.
These are all tan vinyl just like the front seat, and present in good condition.
Rubber mats are covering the floors and the headliner is very nice and tight with light tan vinyl and some wood furring strips as panel dividers above.
Drivetrain A lift of the hood to access the power plant, we see 216ci inline 6 cylinder engine with a 1 barrel down draft carburetor and oil bath air filter setup.
On the back is a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission with a rear axle of 3.
55 ratio.
Undercarriage A fine coating of surface rust covers all the underside panels.
Some invasive rust has created a few areas of some metal chip off in the middle of the floorpans.
Invasive rust has taken over the rockers from the inside with particular heavy damage near the fronts of the wheel wells.
Drum brakes are all around, and this wagon rides on independent front suspension and leaf springs for the back.
Drive-Ability The engine cranks over but does not start.
Some obvious mechanical tinkering will need to be performed.
Some cosmetic damage due to rust bubbling and invasive rust, particularly on the bottom end of this car's bodywork.
All there though, a repaint losing the wood grain, an original interior seating for 8, and some cargo room to spare.
A little TLC and you can start your shuttle service from the train station.
