Vehicle Description 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 The Mustang Boss 302 is a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang originally produced by Ford in 1969 and 1970 alongside its more powerful sibling the Boss 429 Mustang.
Ford revived the Boss 302 nameplate for 2012.
The standard 2011 Ford Mustang GT's 5.
0-liter Coyote V8 engine is enhanced and was referred to within Ford's development teams as the Road Runner engine.
For consignment, a red race key active Boss 302 from 2012 and the blue oval.
An exceptionally clean example that has recently been serviced and PA state inspected, with a mere 32,897 title verified actual miles, all bone stock and coming with its window sticker and owner's kit.
It is #1,924 of the 3,290 cars built and 1 of 153 assembled in Race Red with white accenting, powder coated black 19-inch wheels, and wide radialsthis beautiful example can shame any bowtie out there.
Exterior Bathed in recently ceramic coated Race Red, all panels are laser straight, gaps are well minded, and with contrasting white on the roof, white hood bump up area, and the essential reverse white C-striped hockey stick cove with Boss 302 badging, all is right with this mass of muscle.
Trimmings present in black for the window surrounds, the front chin spoiler, rocker covers, and rear spoiler.
The Mustang has retained its original design cues and lines from the first version in 1964 1/2.
The front end has become more smoothed, but still menacing, the cove is there, and the rear taillights are still in groups of 3's.
Even the B pillar uses the curved window for the rear passengers, this time in lieu of the original venting that was on some of the first version fastbacks.
19-inch black powder coated snowflake styled wheels are on all 4 corners and use the blue oval FORD badge in the central hub.
On the rear roll pan shades of an early version of what is now commonly known as a splitter is seen for those so aerodynamically inclined! Interior Inside we have lightly worn Charcoal Black bolstered and tuck and roll insert high backed bucket seats with an additional molded in headrest on top.
Boss 302 has been embroidered into these backs as well.
With plenty of side bolstering on the seat and back, it definitely helps keep you firmly planted there when utilizing the track key, and I'm speaking from experience! A similar design 2+2 rear seating arrangement is stuffed in the back.
For the dash also in black and gray, with a smattering of brushed aluminum we see blue glowing readouts for the instruments and push button controls.
A simple layout again harkening back to the original with dual rounded deep inset large gauges and centrally located panel with other smaller gauges.
A leather covered steering wheel is the perfect size for this car and sports some control buttons at your fingertips.
Dark Charcoal Black carpet, all clean, covers the floors, and a tight dark gray headliner is above.
Rock and roll! Drivetrain A 5.
0 liter V8 Roadrunner engine is stuffed into the engine bay under the hood.
It has a factory cold air induction system that feeds air to electronic fuel injection.
On the back is an MT-82 6-speed manual transmission, and for the rear axle a Ford 8.
8 inch 3.
73 Trac-Loc gear setup.
A shout out to this engine as it looks absolutely showroom with highly detailed clean components, plastic coverings and blue valve covers.
Also don't forget the rear and side exhaust system unique to this car.
Undercarriage Simply put, wonderfully maintained underneath with factory overspray, aero coverings and just a touch of road dirt and surface rust on the usual suspects.
Racing inspired suspension consists of independent Macpherson strut and coil springs in the front and out back is a 3 link with coil springs and panhard bar.
This suspension is equipped with manually adjustable shocks and struts as well.
Power Brembo front disc brakes and rear discs add the woah factor to counteract the go factor.
Drive-Ability With the track key on hand she fired right up, and out was off to the test track, which is why I used the track key! Here it had plenty of acceleration, smooth quick ability to shift manually with the short throw shifter, and quick panic stopping.
It also provided a nice low rumble cruise at highway speed.
All functions were working perfectly, and seating was very comfortable.
Use caution with the track key though because all the typical nannies are disabled so you can easily have the rear trying to outrun the front with this mode on.
Vroooooom ! Just a beautiful example in excellent condition for this Boss 302 from 2012.
Harkening back to the days of earlier models yet contemporary in its racy design to menace the competition.
