Vehicle Description 1923 Ford T Bucket Greasers are a youth subculture that was popularized in the 1950s to 1960s by predominantly working class and lower-class teenagers and young adults in the United States.
The subculture remained prominent into the mid-1960s and was particularly embraced by certain ethnic groups in urban areas, particularly Italian-Americans and Hispanic-Americans.
Rock and roll music, rockabilly and doo-wop were major parts of the culture.
The word greaser originated in the 19th century in the United States as a derogatory label for poor laborers.
The term was later used to refer to mechanics.
It was not used in writing to refer to the American subculture of the mid-20th century until the mid-1960s because of their characteristic greased-back hair.
Grab on to your leather jacket, and comb in a DA on the back of your head, we are goin' for a wild ride in this T bucket.
Aptly named because the bucket, (passenger compartment), was really the only thing used from the original Ford Model T.
This one utilizes the rear pickup deck as well and presents as an earlier build but still showing strong today.
A fiberglass reproduction bathed in stunning maroon and shows off a snazzy chrome 283ci V8 for all the world to see, and hear.
A definite wild ride experience.
Note:
This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed branding on the title Please note, this vehicle is titled as a Special Construction, the Pennsylvania Department Of Motor Vehicles does not assign a model year to special construction motor vehicles, trailers, etc.
Please research with you local, county, state or provincial motor vehicle bureau to ensure that registering and titling of this vehicle is accepted in your area Exterior What else but maroon, (like a glistening ruby), would adorn the spot on replicated fiberglass on this unit? A climb in for the passengers to have access to the bucket is needed as look ma, no doors, just some pinstriping and body lines to highlight where the doors should be.
Old style chromed 7-inch round sealed beam headlights flank the polished surrounded stainless steel radiator.
Seen are chromed tie rods, front-end rear chromed radius rods, shiny steering rods, chrome hydraulic shocks, chrome suspension springs and bobber style fenders covering the 15 polished Torque Thrust wheels up front.
This mixes with, and highlights, the maroon beautifully, and is nearly so bright you'll need Wayfarers.
More polished 18-inch Torque thrusts wheels in the rear, this time fenderless, flank the small but effective gray tonneau topped bed that holds a fuel cell and the battery within.
Down low in the rear are the twin chrome laden lantern style tail lights just in front of the semi-chromed rear suspension.
Lest we forget the foldable gray canvas convertible top with its plastic oval rear window, giving the entire rod a very Munsters vibe.
Interior Using the provided step plate to climb inside, we rear ourselves in gray velour broadcloth seat fabric which covers the back of the seat as well.
A smooth large rounded top velour gray colored bumper is surrounding the tub and makes getting in and out safer, (if you get my drift!).
In front a simple brushed stainless dash face with white face VDO gauges and a wood rimmed rally steering wheel withold skool kewl non-functional Model T style hand controls is fronting all this velour.
Black carpeting floods the floors and a long Lokar shifter reaches for the driver and has a silver door knob style topper.
Drivetrain A big 283ci Chevrolet V8 with Jet Hot coated headers and chrome side pipes will wake up the neighbors when you arrive home.
Mirror polished and ribbed valve covers flank the polished intake manifold and dual Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetors that reside under a polished and ribbed oval air cleaner assembly.
All this energy runs to the rear tires via a TH350 3-speed automatic with a GM Posi rear axle.
In other words, both tires will smoke when pushed! WOW is what you see, and WOW WOW is what you'll get.
Undercarriage No rust here just plenty of body matching maroon square steel tube.
Chromed suspension parts up front are showing nicely.
Otherwise maroon painted steel and gray fiberglass provides the structure for the bucket, and shows no rust whatsoever.
Transverse leaf springs for the front suspension with disc brakes, and for the back, ladder bars with coil overs and drums for the brakes.
Drive-Ability This baby rocks for the test drive and if you take someone with you it is highly recommended you have them don a diaper and bring an air distress bag just in case you don't want to soil the velour! Actually, it ran fab and with the polished and chromed engine racking off for the whole neighborhood to hear.
Just a beautiful and technically sound build with great paint, gobs of chrome, blingy wheels, fiberglass tub and theplush velour is to die for.
That wonderfully put together mill in front does not hurt either.
This is definitely the T bucket to end all other T buckets.
I'm rolling up my white T shirt sleeves with a pack of Marlboro Reds, and my jeans pants legs, and we are going to raise some hellerrr rather smoke from the tires.
