Vehicle Description 2012 Chevrolet Corvette GS Convertible To celebrate its 100th birthday, Chevrolet created a racing inspired Centennial Edition appearance and suspension package for the entire line of 2012 Corvettes.
Available on all models, it features Carbon Flash Metallic paint with Centennial Satin Black wheels and red brake calipers.
Black was not available as an exterior color in 2012 in favor of the special Carbon Flash Metallic paint featured on the Centennial Edition.
For consignment, a Switchblade Silver Metallic Vette ready to cut the competition in half.
On top is a power black canvas convertible, and in front Euro styled open headlights are back for the Corvette.
No more hidden stuff.
.
too finicky! Interestingly enough with its non hiding head lighting, and this new grille it very much resembles the anthropomorphic Lightning McQueen in the animated cartoon Cars.
Am I right?! Huh?! Exterior With the open blacked out grille leading the way, Corvette manages to do some throwback to some of the earlier versions with shark gill venting on the front quarters, a subtle Corvette cove in the doors, and the raked back windshield bordered in black trimming.
All fiberglass is near perfect, especially up front thanks to the clear bra, and is painted in a factory Switchblade Silver Metallic.
The top folds neatly into the rear flip up dual bumped cowling which butts up to the trunk lid sporting a mini spoiler on the top of the rear vertical panel.
This rear panel has more throwback with the round tail lighting and cross flag badge.
Quad exhaust peeks out from the middle of a black rear roll pan which houses the backup lighting.
18-inch in front and 19-inch on back polished and chromed aluminum thin spoked wide rimmed wheels show through to the massive drilled disc braking and red badged Corvette calipers.
Love the gills on this car as well as the cove.
Retro? Interior We will put the top down for full views of this wonderful interior clad in red and charcoal gray leather.
This covers beautifully fashioned high backed buckets with plenty of stitched overstuffed bolsters to hold the passengers in when taking on several g's around corners.
Within the headrests are embroidered flag badges.
A center console races to the dash starting out with a charcoal gray covered glove box lid then in keeping with the gray theme races forward where molded panels house the shifter and eventually melting upwards into the temp controls and a large screen with other visual functionalities.
This also supports bluetooth and you can use your phone through this device.
A heads up display dash is in front of the driver, with cascading overlapping gauges under a crescent semicircular dash top.
Another throwback is the vertical fiberglass panel between the seats has a small storage area just like Vettes of yore.
The door panels are sculpted and make artistic use of charcoal gray uppers and red inserts and do not show even a single straight line, so very curvaceous.
Black carpeting and a low mileage, (17,664), odometer in blue LCD lights shows the lack of use for this sports car.
Drivetrain Under the hood is a 6.
2 Liter 376ci V8 LS3 mill complete with EFI and has a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission on back with a 3.
42 limited slip rear axle.
Very clean and menacing looking and performing under this hood.
Undercarriage Can you say showroom? That is exactly what it looks like underneath, with nary even a hint of road dirt.
Plenty of cast aluminum parts showing very slight corrosion, and the sport suspension consists of independent SLA double wishbone cast aluminum upper and lower control arms, a transverse mounted leaf spring and monotone shock absorbers.
Power disc brakes are on all 4 corners.
Also noted is a FOB controller for the exhaust system.
Drive-Ability This 100th anniversary Chevrolet car can certainly celebrate in style with the 6.
2 Liter LS3 just press the pedal and hold on! All was working for the test drive which was very exhilarating.
The suspension provided rail like handling, and bias free braking was a must bringing me out off hyperdrive but I digress! Actually I kept my foot into it! Plenty of WOW factor with this car including the snappy color, beautifully contrasting perfectly preserved black canvas top, sport wheels and high performing mill under the hood.
Front quarter gills, rear intake to cool the brakes, and mini spoiler.
That's why they call it the great American Sports Car, and you can get right in and go! I'm gonna haff ta cut ya before you get into this one! 1G1YS3DW3C5100171 1-USA G-General Motors 1-Chevrolet Y-Corvette S-Grand Sport 3LT Package 3-Convertible D-Manual Belts, Front & Side Airbags W-6.
